2000 TIGER/LineŽ files GeoCommunity Your Price: $39.95 The TIGER/Line files were created from the Census Bureau's TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) data base of selected geographic and cartographic information. The TIGER/Line files are extracts of selected geographic and cartographic information from the Census Bureau's TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) database. There is one archived (zipped) TIGER/Line file for each county or county equivalent. The file names consist of TGR + the 2-digit state FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) code + the 3-digit county FIPS code i.e. TGR01031.ZIP for Coffee County, Alabama. This version of the TIGER/Line files contains all the Census 2000 entities EXCEPT FOR the ZIP CodeŽ Tabulation Areas (ZCTAsTM), nor do they contain the updated address ranges based on the final Census 2000 information. The address ranges are comparable to those in the 1999 TIGER/Line files. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files cover all counties, parishes, boroughs, census geographic areas and equivalent entities for each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files will NOT include files for American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Minor Outlying Areas (Midway), and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
